Keeps soil at the perfect moisture level
The GARDENA Soil Moisture Sensor uses electrothermal measuring technology to determine the moisture level of the soil and works in conjunction with GARDENA water computers and irrigation valves to determine and deliver optimal watering quantities. When the soil moisture sensor detects that the soil has reached the desired moisture level, the automatic irrigation system will not be started, or an ongoing irrigation will be interrupted – in this way you can save water and still have beautiful and healthy plants.
Its improved sleek design can be almost entirely inserted into the ground, leaving only 20mm above the ground, eliminating issues with robotic and conventional lawnmowers. The sensor uses electrothermal measuring technology to determine the moisture level of the soil and provides feedback to the water computer.
A 5 meter cable is included and can be buried underground keeping it safe from lawnmower blades and eliminating it as a tripping hazard. A 10 meter extension cable (1868-20) can also be purchased separately and, when combined, allows the placement of the sensor up to 105 meters away from the water computer or valve. It requires only 2 AA batteries to operate and a battery level warning is displayed both in the battery compartment of the sensor and on the water computer.
Made from UV stabilised material and tested to the equivalent of 3 years of Australian sunshine, it is rated to 1200 kPa, made in Germany and comes with a 2-year warranty.
