Automatically optimise irrigation with the Soil Moisture Sensor
Watering your garden has never been so simple, efficient and accurate. The innovative Soil Moisture Sensor measures the current soil moisture and transmits this to your attached Water Control (sold separately). If the soil is still sufficiently moist, the upcoming watering cycle is skipped. In this way, not only do your plants automatically receive the right amount of water, but you also make most efficient use of your precious water by preventing unnecessary irrigation.
The Soil Moisture Sensor is compatible with almost all GARDENA Water Controls and Multi-Channel Controls. Due to its compact size, the battery-powered Soil Moisture Sensor can not only be used in lawns or flowerbeds, but is also suitable for smaller plant pots.
To ensure that the sensor does not interfere with lawn care, it has been thoughtfully designed with a particularly low height and a flat surface. This means that both lawn mowers and robotic lawnmowers can drive over the sensor.
The five-metre long connection cable allows for flexible installation and can be extended as required with an extension cable (10m Extension Cable 1868-20 is available separately, as an accessory).
So that you have an overview of the irrigation, you can see the sensor's readings on your connected Water Control.
The unit runs on two AA batteries (not included), which should give about one year’s operation. A handy low battery power level is indicated on both the Water Control and on the LED in the battery compartment.
